Editioned photographs · Shot on film · Printed by hand
Light, fixed in silver.
Halide Frames is a working darkroom, not a feed. Every photograph here was exposed on film, developed by hand, and printed on fiber paper — twenty-five prints per frame, then the negative is retired. What you hang is the end of a chemical process, not a file.
Twelve frames, hung the way the studio hangs them — unevenly, on purpose.
Each print is titled, toned, and numbered. The wall below is a masonry hang: tall next to wide, dark next to pale, the way a room actually reads.

A frame is a sentence. A series is the argument.
Slow on purpose, at every step.
“A print you can hold outlives every screen it was never on.”
-
Exposure
Everything is shot on film — one medium-format body, two lenses. The constraint is the style. No frame is machine-gunned into existence; most days end with six exposures.
-
Development
Negatives are hand-developed in small tanks, temperature held to the half-degree. The contact sheet is the first — and often the last — time a frame is judged.
-
The print
Fiber-based gelatin silver, exposed under the enlarger. Dodging and burning are done by hand and never repeated exactly — every print in an edition is a sibling, not a clone.
-
The edition
Twenty-five prints per frame, numbered in pencil on the verso. When the edition sells through, the negative is retired to the archive — kept, but never printed again.

Editions close permanently when print 25 sells. Prices rise as an edition thins — the ledger is honest about scarcity because the darkroom is.
An edition ends the day frame twenty-five leaves the studio. Six are open. Three are nearly gone.

Commissions & acquisitions.
The studio takes a small number of commissions each year — interiors, editorial, and private portrait sittings, all on film. For prints, name the frame and the edition tier and the ledger will be checked the same day.
No mailing list. No noise. One letter when a new edition opens.
