Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026 · Effective on use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the ECTD website (ectd.com.au) and its digital products, calculators, articles, downloads, and any other services we provide, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please do not use the website or services.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted at the time of your visit or purchase governs that interaction. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. What we provide

ECTD operates an online publishing and digital products platform. Our offerings include:

  • Free content: articles, guides, calculators, and informational pages (no purchase required)
  • Paid digital products: downloadable templates, ebooks, courses, prompt libraries, and toolkits
  • Online tools: calculators and utilities at ectd.com.au/tools/*

We do not provide: live sessions, 1:1 consulting, in-person training, or personalised financial / legal / medical advice. All content is general in nature and educational in purpose.

3. Educational use only — not professional advice

All content on ECTD — including calculators, articles, guides, and paid products — is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, medical advice, or any other form of regulated professional advice.

Calculators provide estimates only. Articles describe rules and concepts as they apply generally; your specific situation may differ. For decisions of consequence — buying property, restructuring tax, complex investments, medical conditions, legal disputes — always consult a qualified, licensed professional in the relevant field.

You agree that you will not rely solely on ECTD content to make significant financial, legal, medical, or other decisions, and that you will independently verify and seek professional advice where appropriate.

4. Purchases & payments

Prices are displayed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable. Payment is processed by third-party providers (Stripe, Gumroad, Whop, or similar) and is subject to their own terms.

On successful payment, you receive immediate access to the digital product (download link via email and/or receipt page). By completing checkout, you confirm you have reviewed the product description, you wish to access the product immediately, and you waive the cooling-off period for change-of-mind refunds (subject to your statutory consumer rights — see section 5).

All purchases are personal-use only. You may not resell, redistribute, or share download links with third parties. Bulk-licence enquiries: hello@ectd.com.au.

5. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our dedicated Refund Policy. In summary: we do not offer change-of-mind refunds on digital products that have been delivered, but you retain your full statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law (refund/repair/replace for major failure, acceptable quality, fit for purpose, matching description).

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — articles, calculators, guides, paid products, design, code, branding — is the intellectual property of ECTD or its licensors, protected by Australian and international copyright law.

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use purchased products for your own personal or internal-business use only. You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute purchased products
  • Share download links or login credentials with third parties
  • Strip our branding, remove copyright notices, or rebrand content as your own
  • Use products to train AI/ML models, including LLMs
  • Use any content in a way that competes directly with our offerings

Made-to-order deliverables — ownership follows payment. For AI-generated, made-to-order deliverables built to your brief (documents, images, code, websites and similar), full ownership of the finished deliverable transfers to you only once payment has cleared and has not been reversed. Until then, you hold a limited licence to review the work. If a payment is charged back, refunded, or otherwise reversed, that ownership does not pass and any licence to use the deliverable ends immediately — continued use of work you have not paid for is unauthorised. None of this affects a genuine refund you are entitled to under the Australian Consumer Law (see our Refund Policy).

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the website or services for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to servers, accounts, or other users' data
  • Use automated scrapers, bots, or crawlers to harvest content (other than respecting our robots.txt for indexing purposes)
  • Submit forms or content that is malicious, harmful, defamatory, or infringing
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others

8. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through and sign up or purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are clearly marked "Sponsored" and use the rel="sponsored" attribute. This does not influence which products we recommend or how we describe them.

Display advertising on this site is provided through Google AdSense and is independent of editorial content. See our Privacy Policy for details on cookies and data handling.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law (and subject to non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law):

  • ECTD content is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind beyond those provided by the ACL
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or products
  • Our total cumulative liability for any direct loss is limited to the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim, or AUD $100, whichever is greater
  • Calculators provide estimates only; we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on calculator outputs
  • We do not guarantee any specific outcomes from using our products (financial gain, weight loss, business growth, etc.)

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify ECTD against any claims arising from your misuse of the site, breach of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights through your actions on the site.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to paid products if you breach these Terms (e.g. by reselling or sharing downloads). In genuine cases of fraud or harm, we reserve the right to refuse service without notice.

You may stop using the site at any time. Cancellation of any paid product does not entitle you to a refund except as permitted by the Refund Policy or Australian Consumer Law.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will first be addressed by good-faith negotiation between the parties for at least 30 days. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to:

  • Your local consumer protection agency for consumer disputes
  • The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (accc.gov.au) for major issues
  • An Australian court of competent jurisdiction as a last resort

13. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in full force and effect.
