Worth being blunt about what lands. This is a document, not a running service — a Markdown file on your order page in around 12 minutes, written against your actual stack rather than a generic example: your transcript source, your task destination, the summary style you want, the person who picks up follow-ups when a transcript names nobody. The automation itself only exists once you have built it, on your own accounts and API keys. ECTD deploys nothing, monitors nothing, stores none of your transcripts and never sees your meetings.
n8n, Make.com, or no platform at all
The blueprint declines to pick an automation platform for you. It carries a full n8n spec — nodes, connections and field mappings, step by step — and the equivalent Make.com scenario laid out module by module. Use whichever you already pay for. If you pay for neither, read both before committing to the one you would rather maintain.
There is also the path for the week you have no time to build anything. A paste-into-ChatGPT prompt gives you the same summarise-and-extract behaviour with no automation at all: paste the transcript, read back the summary and action items, move them into your task tool by hand. Slower per meeting, obviously. Usable the afternoon you buy it, which the wired-up version is not.
The field map is where these builds usually come apart
Two pieces take the longest to get right, and both arrive finished. The summarise-and-extract prompt is paste-ready and written to the summary style you asked for — it is the instruction that turns a rambling transcript into decisions, action items, owners and dates rather than an undifferentiated wall of bullets. It also handles ownership: a name spoken in the transcript becomes the owner, and where nobody is named, the default follow-up owner you nominated picks it up.
The task-field map is the other one. It is a table spelling out what lands where — which part of the AI output becomes the task title, which becomes the assignee, which becomes the due date in your Notion database, Asana project or Trello board. This is the stage where a DIY build tends to look correctly wired and still deliver half-empty tasks, so it is set out line by line rather than described in passing. One thing no spec can fix: extraction quality tracks transcript quality. A garbled recording produces garbled action items, so read what comes out before it reaches your team. Frequently asked questions
Does anything of mine get connected, or do my meetings get processed at your end?
Neither. No account of yours is connected and no meeting of yours is ever touched by ECTD. What you receive is a written build spec naming the trigger and modules to use for your transcript source in n8n or Make.com. You build it on your own accounts and API keys, and it runs entirely under your control.
I pay for neither n8n nor Make.com. Is the A$99 wasted?
No. The manual paste-into-ChatGPT prompt path produces the summary and action items with no automation platform at all — you copy the tasks across yourself. The n8n and Make.com specs are both in the same file for whenever you decide you want it running without you in the loop.
My tasks live in ClickUp. Am I out of luck?
For the destination wiring, yes. The build specs and task-field map are written for Notion, Asana or Trello — those three are what this blueprint covers, and a mapped spec for anything else is not something we promise. The transcript-source and AI-extraction stages still apply and the manual prompt path works regardless, but the ClickUp end would be yours to work out from that platform's own documentation.
